The hacker who hacked UXLINK lost money due to a phishing attack.
On September 22, the UXLINK web3 platform was hacked, resulting in the minting of 2 billion UXLINK tokens. The hacker later transferred the funds to decentralized exchanges, receiving approximately 6732 ETH (approximately $28,1 billion).
Ironically, this very same attacker himself became a victim of phishing. According to blockchain data, approximately 542 million UXLINK, worth approximately $48 million, were withdrawn from the attacker’s wallet.
Scam Sniffer reported that a hacker signed a malicious contract called «increaseAllowance» associated with a phishing scam. This allowed another group of attackers, presumably affiliated with the Inferno Drainer network, to withdraw the stolen funds.
The incident shocked and amused the crypto community, with many users posting laughing emojis.
A platform hack led to a sharp drop in the price of the UXLINK cryptocurrency by more than 75% to $0,08. The cryptocurrency’s market capitalization has fallen by more than $100 million in the past 24 hours.
In response, the UXLINK team urged community members not to trade UXLINK on decentralized exchanges, warning of the risks associated with unauthorized tokens.
