Billionaire Adam Weitzman Has Bought Over 5000 Popular NFTs
Billionaire investor and scrap metal company owner Adam Weitzman said he bought more than 5000 NFT from web3 studio Yuga Labs, which created the once popular Bored Ape Yacht Club collection.
Today is a special day for me. I am making a long-term investment in Otherside and purchasing over 5000 Otherdeeds, Mega Kodas, and Weapon Kodas directly from Yuga Labs to continue growing my collection, the entrepreneur wrote.
Weitzman also said that his purchase would help support Yuga Labs’ efforts to create the Otherside metaverse.
«I recently saw Yuga refocus and prioritize [Otherside]. This project is very important to the entire community, and I will do everything I can to make it a success for everyone,» he wrote.
Amid the market collapse NFT Yuga Labs has been forced to sell popular brands like Moonbirds and Cryptopunks. But these collections used to be among the leaders in terms of trading volume. In March DappRadar reported that the trading volumes of the most popular NFT-collections have decreased by 95%.
When Otherside launched in May 2022, plots of virtual land called Otherdeeds sold out within hours, earning Yuga Labs $317 million in sales. NFT grant the owner the right to a piece of land in the game and a creature named Koda that lives on that piece of land.
