Justin Sun Accuses Bloomberg of Publishing Incorrect Information
Blockchain Founder Tron Justin Sun has filed a lawsuit against Bloomberg, asking for a temporary injunction to stop it from publishing information about his financial assets.
Sun’s representatives said his profile on the Bloomberg Billionaires Index, published Aug. 11, «incorrectly reported Mr. Sun’s assets in a material and dangerous way.»
Now Sun is seeking an injunction to stop the publication from «recklessly and improperly disclosing his highly confidential, sensitive, personal and proprietary financial information.»
In his lawsuit, the founder Tron said that in February, a journalist approached his team with a proposal to include Sun in the Bloomberg Billionaires Index, which required «a review of his assets to confirm his wealth.»
The entrepreneur agreed and was given “unequivocal assurances” that this information, especially regarding his cryptocurrency holdings, would be kept strictly confidential and Bloomberg would only use it for analysis.
Sun specified in the lawsuit that on August 2 he sent a letter to Bloomberg demanding that it stop publishing information about his assets, but the publication said that it would publish the article anyway.
At the same time, the entrepreneur claims that the report attributes to him the ownership of cryptocurrency, which “he never owned, controlled or had any beneficial interest in, and did not report the cryptocurrency he owned.”
This could cause significant damage and puts me and my family at risk of theft, burglary, kidnapping and bodily harm, Sun wrote.
In response to the businessman’s claims, Bloomberg’s lawyers said they would contest the lawsuit, since the entire essence of his statement is controversial.
