CHARLIE Token Issued After Charlie Kirk’s Murder Receives $300,000
The murder of political activist and Trump supporter Charlie Kirk has led to the creation of speculative tokens that exploit the theme of the tragedy.
Within hours of the September 10 shooting, anonymous users minted several coins bearing Kirk’s name, one of which fetched nearly $300,000.
The 31-year-old politician was killed by a single gunshot while giving a speech at the University of Utah’s outdoor stadium. While his supporters and ordinary Americans mourned, unscrupulous people decided to profit from his death.
In particular, the one that released the CHARLIE cryptocurrency in the blockchain Solana managed to make a profit of $299,426.
Moreover, at least five other separate tokens have been launched, according to DexScreener, including Charlie Cartman (Charlie), RIP CHARLIE KIRK (CHARLIE), and Justice For Charlie (KIRK). Charlie Cartman’s market cap rose to $74,9 million within four hours of trading, with over 23,000 transactions totaling $2,4 million.
Justice for Charlie’s market cap reached $12,4 million, registering over 114,000 trades in 13 hours, while RIP CHARLIE KIRK, despite a quick pullback, reached $28,1 million in trading volume.
Token KIRK has shown wild swings, falling 85% in six hours before bouncing back 2260% in 24 hours. These sharp reversals mirror those seen in OZZY and HULK, the coins released after the deaths of Ozzy Osbourne and Hulk Hogan. They also crashed after an initial run-up.
Such crypto assets have no utility and their trajectories follow pump and dump cycles.
