Anatoly Yakovenko to Take on Unscrupulous Solana Validators

Co-founder Solana Anatoly Yakovenko called for punishment of validators Solana (SOL) that hold up slots, steal rewards and slow down the network.

Yakovenko is outraged that validators use various delay methods to charge additional fees.

The issue has become so widespread that one validator created a dashboard showing the deterioration, which showed that the average slot time has increased by 5% since August 2,5th.

The price of SOL should rise, not the block time, one social network user wrote.

And it is difficult to disagree with this statement, because a deliberate increase in the leader’s remuneration creates several imbalances at once.

Increasing slot time beyond expected Solana 400ms allows individual validators to pack more transactions into their blocks, earning higher fees or rewards.

Other validators, who receive fewer, less valuable transactions, earn fewer computational units during validation, putting them at a double disadvantage.

Validators with their interests infringed upon have turned to developers Solana with a request to solve the problem, to which Anatoly Yakovenko promised to “drop nuclear weapons from orbit.”

He also recommended «dropping these blocks by default by 10 slots» as a punishment for validators who practice artificially slowing down transaction processing.
